There are so many dining options available at Disneyland. Trying to figure out where to go eat and then what to eat once you get there can be a bit overwhelming. With a little bit of planning and prep work you’ll feel prepared for your next or first visit to The Disneyland Resort. I’m here to help make planning easier. I love lists and checking things off. I also like to have everything in one place where I can see all my options. So I did just that. I’ve created two new FREE dining printables with all the food you can find and where to find it. And the BEST part, these lists only contain food that’s available year round in the parks. There’s nothing worse than seeing a pretty Instagram photo of something from Disneyland and getting all excited to try it when you go only to find out it was a seasonal item. I love the seasonal food, but I want to be able to plan some of the staples that I know will be available.
Disneyland food favorites available year round
I’ve been visiting the parks for decades and I have some favorite food items that I must get every time. And I’ve learned some helpful tips about a few of them that I feel I need to share with you or I just wouldn’t be a very good Disney friend.
Mickey shaped beignets
I love Mickey shaped food and the Mickey beignets are my favorite treat at the parks! There are ONLY 2 locations inside Disneyland that sell Mickey shaped beignets. The most convenient place to purchase them is at The Mint Julep in New Orleans Square near the Haunted Mansion. To purchase beignets you can mobile order in the app or stand in line to order. You can purchase a 3 pack or a 6 pack of beignets. Pro tip you CAN mix and match on the 6-pack. You can get 3 regular beignets and 3 of the seasonal ones. Mint Julep sells seasonal flavors most of the year. The flavors vary including candy cane and pumpkin! Plus this is where they sell the famous mint julep drink! Such a refreshing drink and pairs well with the beignets!
But there’s also another location in the parks that sells Mickey shaped beignets. You can also purchase them at Café Orleans. This location is a table service restaurant. You can order food and/or just get some Mickey beignets. These beignets come with Fruit Coulis and Vanilla Bean crème as well as shown below. I would suggest making a reservation cause this place can get very busy. (Currently the beignets are not back on the menu at Cafe Orleans yet. I’ll update when this changes back to normal.)
And if you’re wanting food at Cafe Orleans they have my favorite savory meal the Monte Cristo sandwich served with Pommes Frites now! Pro tip: You can find this yummy sandwich in 3 locations.
- On the lunchtime menu at the Blue Bayou‘s for $29.
- Lunch and dinner at Café Orleans served with Pommes Frites for $21.
- Lunch and dinner at Smokejumpers Grill served in a 1/2 size portion for $11
This delicious sandwich comes with Ham, Turkey and Swiss cheese fried in light batter. It can easily be split between two people (note split fee plate may apply). I always ask for two servings of jam and two servings of the Cajun-spiced Remoulade that comes with the Pommes Frites. Also at Café Orleans you can order this sandwich with cheese only. It comes with Swiss, Mozzarella, and Double Crème Brie cheese! I recommend making reservations ahead of time if you’re dining at either location. You can reserve dining through the app, on the website or call 714-781-DINE. For more reservation tips read this post.
Grilled Cheese sandwich and Tomato Basil soup
Next up my favorite go to quick service meal. The grilled cheese sandwich and tomato basil soup combo at Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe is SO GOOD! And the best thing is now you can use mobile ordering and skip the line! But if you do wait in line make sure you look inside the bakery cases. They have the most delicious desserts! I love to eat here cause the location is perfect at the end of Main Street. You have a great view of the hub, castle and Matterhorn while you eat outside on the patio. Plus at certain times during the day you can enjoy music by the Main Street piano player. And he even takes requests!
Famous Disneyland Corn Dog
I’m not normally a corn dog fan, but there’s something amazing about a corn dog at Disneyland! The original and first location, the Little Red Wagon, is on Main Street. And this used to be the only place you could get a corn dog. But now you can go to Frontierland and get one at the Stage Door Café or if you’re in Disney California Adventure you can get one at the Corn Dog Castle. And remember that you can use mobile ordering at all of these locations. If you’ve never had one try it you’ll thank me later!
Don’t forget the Dole Whip
One of the most popular treats at Disneyland is the Dole Whip. You can now find it at 2 locations in Disneyland plus one location outside the gates if you don’t have a ticket. First you can purchase it from the original location, The Tiki Juice Bar. I recommend mobile ordering this because the lines can get very long for this treat. The other tip if you don’t mobile order don’t stand in the line outside of the Tiki Juice Bar, go to the line inside where you wait for the show. If you go into the queue for Walt’s Enchanted Tiki Room you will find a much shorter line. Grab your Dole Whip and head into the next Tiki show where you’ll enjoy a show with your treat. This location serves Dole Whip and a Dole Whip float only.
There is another location that offers Dole Whip. The Tropical Hideaway in Adventureland next to the Jungle Cruise is a new quick service option. It’s a fun place to grab a snack and relax in this perfect themed tropical location! Plus they serve more than one flavor of Dole Whip and some other fun options. They have the following options
- Dole Whip pineapple, lemon, mango, and raspberry (can be swirled)
- Dole Whip Floats
- Dole Whip pineapple-lemon swirl with Dole pineapple juice
- Dole Whip pineapple-raspberry swirl with Dole pineapple juice
- Dole Whip raspberry-lemon swirl with Dole pineapple juice
- Dole Whip raspberry-lemon with passionfruit, orange, and guava juice
- Loaded Dole Whips
- Jungle Cruise Dessert Bowl – Dole Whip with blueberries, strawberries, and mandarin oranges topped with coconut caramel sauce, crushed plantains, dried hibiscus, and toasted coconut
- Dole Whip chile-mango with chamoy, mango, and chile-lime
And lastly if you are craving Dole Whip, but don’t have a ticket to go inside Disneyland have no fear there’s an option for you! Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill at the Disneyland Hotel serves Dole Whip, Dole Whip floats and Dole Whip topped with rum! Plus this location offers mobile order! I’d recommend self parking at the Disneyland hotel to go to this location. Tangaroa Terrace will validate your parking. Plus the views and ambiance here is very tropical and fun!
Print FOOD lists for Disneyland and DCA
Now those are just a few of my favorite things. For more food posts head over here. Now it’s your turn to check out all the food offerings at the Disneyland Resort and start planning. Print the checklists found below for each park. There is one list for Disneyland and another for Disney California Adventure. The food lists have every restaurant inside each park. The restaurants are grouped by which land they are located. That way if you’re in the park and find yourself hungry you could just look on your list and find a snack or something nearby. Mark up the list before your trip and take it with you to use. These lists only have FOOD. There wasn’t enough room for drinks. Guess I’ll have to keep making lists, more to come! Also when the parks start to offer breakfast again we may need to adjust and have just a breakfast checklist. These lists will be updated as menus change too. Now get printing and making those plans! Updated 6-30
