If you’re planning a trip to Anaheim and need a hotel, Disneyland is still closed. It’s important to know that several of the local hotels are still closed too. But there are many that are OPEN and ready for guests. I will share in this post many of the hotels that are available and update as hotels open over the next few months. This post contains affiliate links which means I make a little something at no extra cost to you if you purchase through the link. I appreciate your support it helps to maintain this website and provide great Disney content for your vacations.
Many guests are coming to visit Downtown Disney or planning to come to one of the ticketed A Touch of Disney events. The hotels that are open have implemented new safety protocols. Below are some options that I have personally stayed at near Disneyland and would recommend.
Disneyland Resort hotels
None of the Disneyland resort hotels are open at this time. The Grand Californian Hotel will open for DVC guests ONLY starting on May 2nd, but they are not taking reservations for other guests at this time. Also the Disneyland Hotel and Paradise Pier remain closed at this time and have no reopening dates announced.
Hotels Open near Disneyland
I recently stayed at the Anaheim Hotel located directly across the street. The convenience of this hotel is by far it’s number one draw. This cute renovated retro hotel is a new favorite of mine. This hotel is open and a great option. Read my full review for this hotel here. To check pricing and availability head on over here.
Another new favorite hotel is the Cambria hotel located about 7-8 minutes by car from Disneyland. You could take an Uber to the parks, ride the local ART bus transportation or drive yourself. This hotel opened last year, it’s clean brand new and includes free breakfast. They also have an awesome large pool area with 2 water slides, splash pad area, jacuzzi and basketball court. You can even use the BBQ grills to cook yourself a nice meal or order from the restaurant that’s poolside. I loved staying here back in October. Unfortunately I realized they closed again in January. So this hotel is NOT currently open, but I’m including it here because when it reopens in April/May you will want to check out rates and availability here.
Another hotel near Disneyland that we love to stay in is The Residence Inn. Located 7-8 minutes away from the parks is one of the best HOT breakfasts around. Breakfast is included with your stay. We love the remoleded rooms (January 2021), which include a kitchen. This option is great to help you save money and prepare a meal in your room. This location is great for small or large groups. They have large suites with a king bed in one room, 2 queen beds in another room and a sofa bed in the living room with the kitchen. I have a full review of this renovated property here. For rates and availability check here.
If you’re looking for newly remodeled budget friendly hotel then I recommend The Stanford Inn and Suites. This hotel is located 7-8 minutes by car from Disneyland too. There is an ART bus stop conveniently located in from of the hotel if you’d like to use local transportation to the parks. Your stay includes a hot breakfast as well. Many of the rooms are Disney themed plus they offer kids’ suites for larger families. Check rates and availability here.
Lastly, back in October I was invited to check out the rooftop bar at the JW Marriott Anaheim Resort. The views from Parkestry rooftop bar are amazing. You can see Disneyland and DCA! This high end luxury hotel is also open for guests at this time. Check rates and availability here.
