What an exciting and historical weekend I just came home from, the reopening of Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. Now that the parks have reopened guests are traveling back to the Happiest Place on Earth. One of the most important parts of planning a visit to Disneyland is deciding where to stay. For my trip this past weekend the Homewood Suites Anaheim Resort-Convention Center hotel graciously hosted me while I was in Anaheim. I loved the opportunity to review another hotel close to Disneyland. My opinions and thoughts are my own based on my recent stay.

About the rooms
All 214 guest suites at Homewood Suites Anaheim have a full size kitchen, living room, spacious vanity area and a few different bedding options. Each suite has a separate living space and bedroom. There’s a full size sofa sleeper, chair, TV, dining table and chairs in each living room area. As well as a furnished kitchen with appliances… refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher and dishes.
They offer a few different room types including a single king, 2 queens or family suites with bunkbeds. Each bedroom has a desk, chair, TV and dresser as well.
The bathroom is separate from the vanity area and includes a tub/shower combo. These suites are laid out nicely and very functional.
Breakfast is complimentary. There is a large buffet area with many hot and cold choices. But at this time due to COVID restrictions, breakfast is prepared for you and distributed in the lobby. Your food comes in a disposable box with a yogurt, hard boiled eggs, bagel and cream cheese. Plus an option of juice boxes and fruit. Then you decide if you want to eat outside, take your food to your room or on the go. I will update when hot breakfast returns as normal like before.
Close to Disneyland
The Homewood Suites is conveniently located 1 mile from Disneyland, a short 15 minute walk. Another great option for transportation is using the buses that go back and forth from the Toy Story parking lot to Disneyland. The hotel is located next door to the Toy Story parking lot. You could walk over to the lot, hop on a bus and it will drop you off at Disneyland. And then at the end of your park day, hop back on the bus and it will take you back to the parking lot next door to the hotel. At this time the Toy Story parking lot is not available, but it will return eventually and this would be the easiest way to get to the parks.
If you have a car it’s just a short 5-7 minute drive to the Mickey and Friends parking structure. Guests with a vehicle pay a parking fee overnight of $22 per day. This price is not included in your rate per night.
Pool area and more
This hotel has a main pool, kiddie pool, small splash pad and hot tub. The pools are heated year round for your convenience. And during the summer months they have Dive-in movie nights. In addition there are BBQ’s outside that any guest can use to cook on. Plus enjoy the entertainment deck with a putting green and basketball sport court. Last but not least they also have an arcade room with lots of games next to the pool area, great fun for everyone!
The hotel offers complimentary Wi-Fi for hotel guests. There is a fitness center on property too. In the lobby there is a small pantry area with snacks, soda, water, ice cream treats and some microwavable meals for purchase. I also want to mention they used to serve a complimentary evening dinner and drinks Monday – Thursday. This has been on hold since the parks closed, but they are hopeful it will return soon. And this additional perk will make this hotel even more appealing for guests.
My first impression when I walked into the room was wow how spacious, but more importantly how clean. Homewood Suites is a Hilton property and they have implemented a Clean Stay program in collaboration with Lysol. The door had a Clean Stay sticker seal that I broke when I entered the room. Read more about the Hilton Clean Stay program.
The hotel accommodates single up to 6 guests per room. I think this hotel is especially perfect for larger families with plenty of room to spread out. Plus if a family is looking to save money they can utilize the in room kitchen to prepare meals rather than eat out. With the pools, arcade, basketball and putting green you could easily enjoy a rest day from the parks at this hotel. Another fun activity offered during the summer is Dive-in movies at night.
Lastly I have to mention the fan in the bedroom portion. A ceiling fan was a nice added touch to the room. I loved this feature when I got back to the room in the late afternoon. I really enjoyed my stay at Homewood Suites Anaheim and would definitely recommend this hotel. My travel partner, Get Away Today, made all of the arrangements for my stay at this hotel. Check out reduced rates through Get Away Today here and see why I use them to book all my Disneyland vacations on this post.
